Real Talk: User Experience

Design & Branding

Joshua Davidson released this video

Designing and building a great user experience for an application is easier than what most would make you think, especially online when you read and hear what “experts” have to say.

In reality, there are a ton of different ways a great app design can succeed in today’s market. Think about how many different apps you use, that have different feels, brands, execution strategies; yet all still feel great, either in the palm of your hand or mousepad.

Great app designs only come down to three, easy-to-understand but often over-thought and over-complicated fundamentals:

1) Does your app feel like an app that belongs in the year 2017, or the year 2010?

2) Less is more when it comes to a great app design. Does your user experience get right to the point? Are you creating a frictionless experience for your users?

3) Consistency is key. Are you using the same colors, fonts, logos, and branding pieces throughout the entire application; or does it feel thrown together without much thought and care?

In this video, we dive deep into each of the fundamentals, and what you need to do to ensure your app will stand the test of time, not just from a product-perspective, but from a design one too.
