Multi-concept retail giant Innovative partnered with Chop Dawg previously for a mobile app to power their popular massage chairs. Now, they wanted to re-design their kiosk stroller rental experience.

Innovative has been operating in malls and retail centers across America for over two decades, with their Relax and Recharge massage chair stations and Zoomaroo stroller rentals. Having successfully partnered up in the past, we were up for the challenge of helping team Innovative’s existing tech team re-design the UI of their in-mall mobile kiosk, where users rent and return rented strollers. The goal? Streamlining the user experience, while updating overall the look and feel and matching the brand aesthetic.

Focusing on the user experience for this design-only project was essential for Zoomaroo.

With user ease the ultimate goal of this redesign, it was important to design a flow that would guide users from start to finish through the process of renting and returning a stroller quickly and painlessly. Since users are not being asked to download an app to rent a stroller, it was important to create a standalone app experience busy shoppers with children are happy to repeat next time they happen to be shopping right at the kiosk.

Innovative is a technology-based company that’s successfully served the retail industry nationwide since 2001, and therefore has their own talented in-house tech team. But that doesn’t always include mobile app design or development experts. And that’s where we come in! We worked along side their team to re-design the user flow for the Zoomaroo rental and return process, ensuring their own development team would be able to pick up where we left off with designs for their in-mall mobile kiosks.
