Almost 1.4 billion of these users will be women. More women than ever are using a social network to interact with friends, catch up on the news, and engage in their communities, but that doesn’t tell the full story.
Social networking has become the norm for individuals to share their favorite things, discover new restaurants, services, events, and involve their friends and family in such activities. Given this, Alison Gorman, the founder of MyFaves, realized there is a massive opportunity for disruption.
Think of it as a mix of Google Places, Pinterest, and Facebook. However, MyFaves is the next generation of social networking apps. It takes community-building into a more private realm while still offering something fun.
MyFaves reached out to the team of Chop Dawg in early 2019, seeking help to bring their remarkable vision to life. After carefully evaluating all of the programming and assets a previous agency had put together, it was determined that the best strategy was to reprogram the application from scratch following the current standards and quality controls expected in the modern app marketplace.
Through an in-depth, yet niche, list of popular categories such as beauty, fitness, health services, restaurants & entertainment, traveling, and books, users of MyFaves have the opportunity to begin cataloging their favorite things. In return, these faves can be shared with others, discovered by others, and discussed.
Users of MyFaves will be able to ask their friends, family, and local communities about their favorite things, such as restaurants, services, and more. The application is built on community, involving your close network, the network of your colleagues and friends, your family, and the community near you in real life. Users can see new favorites that those in their circles have added, and give their input, and even snag such favorites for their own profiles too.
MyFaves was being built as an iPhone and Android application using React Native and with REST APIs, supporting iOS 12, iOS 13, and Android 9, Android 10. For the administrator and server-side, we were using PHP with Laravel.
We're a full stack design & development agency that is as hands-on as a CTO+Team out of the box. It is much harder to find a team with great chemistry that has the shared talent to back it up, and we take pride in our effort to achieve both.Schedule a consultation with us
