Meet Looksee, Marissa Canida’s solution to a problem that countless Americans have faced, and will continue to face without this app. At face value, Looksee is a beautifully designed and easy-to-use application for sharing the gifts you’ve purchased with friends and loved ones. But that alone wouldn’t do justice to describe what Looksee is about. Looksee is also a place where you as the giftee can share thank yous, share photographs and videos of your gift, and express your gratitude to the gifter.
So how is Looksee the future of gifting, available right in the palm of your hand? It is a one-spot-shop for seeing all of the upcoming events happening within your friends and families, and keep track of the right opportunities to give them a gift they will forever cherish.
Most importantly, Looksee is a place for remembrance and fondness.
Looksee reminds users of anniversaries they received a gift from that special someone, allowing users of the application to go back down memory lane and see not only what was gifted to them, but the thank yous, love yous, photographs, and videos sent to commemorate the gift.
This app will be to gifting what Venmo has been for money.
Looksee allows users to easily search for gifts they received in the past, to be reminded who got them what, the occasion, plus the pleasantries and fond memories that went along with it. Looksee will become the next generation’s platform for being reminded of events, sending gifts to those who you care about the most, and become a ledger, a memory bank for everything someone has ever thoughtfully got you.
Some of the technology that we supported when we created the Looksee app
Looksee was built as an iPhone and Android application using React Native and with REST APIs, supporting iOS 12, iOS 13, and Android 9, Android 10. For the administrator and server-side, we used PHP with Laravel.
