Episode 022 — How Anthony Maher Is Building Philadelphia’s Startup Scene
Joshua Davidson released this podcast
This week on #thePawdcast, we’re joined by Anthony Maher, co-founder of one of the fastest growing coworking brands in the world, Benjamin’s Desk.
We discuss quite a bit on this episode. We chat extensively about Anthony’s original career as a professional athlete playing soccer throughout the United States. We discuss how Anthony got involved in real estate, the lessons he learned while in real estate, and how he uses this skill-set today when it comes to his many coworking locations. We chat about why and how he got involved in coworking, the origins of Benjamin’s Desk, how he is focused on attracting 10,000 members, how he has gone from a little location in the heart of Philadelphia to over hundreds of thousands of square footage throughout the entire city. We chat further about where the future of coworking is going, how he has competed against large coworking brand names such as WeWork, and everything in-between.
This is a great episode, one that was a lot of fun from an athletic point-of-view, real estate point-of-view, building a tangible, brick-and-mortar business point-of-view, and from a strategic operations perspective. It doesn’t matter if you’re a serial entrepreneur, a first-timer or an inspiring entrepreneur, you’ll be able to take away a lot from listening to Anthony about his journey this week on #thePawdcast!
