Parent-Child Relationship Programs has a long and rich history in the Infant Mental Health field.
In 1971, Dr. Kathryn Barnard, PhD, RN, FAAN, Professor of Family and Child Nursing at the University of Washington, initiated research that brought the ecology of early child development closer to the level of clinical practice used today by developing methods for assessing behaviors of children and their parents.
Dr. Barnard identified environmental factors that are critical to a child’s well-being and demonstrated the importance of parent-child interaction as a predictor of later cognitive and language development.
Following this research with the extensive knowledge and experience in this space gained in the decades since, the team at the Parent-Child Relationship Programs at the Barnard Center was looking to help better educate and provide actionable items for the agencies and partners that support their work.
For years, the organization has successfully produced video and PDF content through DVDs to be shown to clients and new mothers in need.
Chop Dawg created an application for mobile and tablet devices that lets audiences watch content, cast to compatible devices, and open PDF content. Partner with us to help out with your app, too!
