By 1982, the Belue/Scott/Weaver class had left, but there was still plenty of talent between the hedges. QB John Lastinger and Herschel anchored the offense, and the defense--led by Freddie Gilbert, Terry Hoage, Mike Sanchez and Tony Flack--was stingy as ever. Except for one special game, these DAWGS didn't dominate too many of their opponents; all they did was win, and win, and win, all the way to another SEC Championship and Sugar Bowl appearance.
