The 1981 DAWGS might've been Vince Dooley's most talented team ever. The offense--led by seniors Buck Belue and Lindsay Scott and sophomore Herschel Walker--steamrolled opponents week after week, beginning with the domination of Tennessee and ending with the total destruction of hapless Georgia Tech. A severe case of turnover-itis at eventual national champion Clemson kept this bunch of DAWGS from a shot at another national title, but the SEC was won easily and the DAWGS advanced to the Sugar Bowl again. Check out the Florida game, another 26-21 classic; and the Ole Miss game, when Herschel made his most famous 5-yard run ever. All in all, 1981 was another great year to be a DAWG ("...Lindsay Scott is streaking...Lindsay Scott is gone....").
